Introducing our new style of Mumtaz sari silk shirts! This beautiful sky blue chiffon sari silk is lined and made into a banded, round collar V-neck shirt.

The Ciel (sky in French) shirt is made from sari chiffon fabric which was fair trade purchased during our time living in India. This material is a silk/polyester blend that's exquisitely soft, quick drying, and doesn't need ironing.

I used a soft polyester crepe lining, loosely attached, for a soft feel and fabulous fit! This makes for an ideal shirt which is compact, stylish, and comfortable in hot weather.

The neckline is reinforced to give some shape to the shirt. Only one Ciel shirt ever made!

A note about Sari Material - all my material is/was bought in India where we lived for two years. Although it is often termed "silk", this is more of a colloquial expression, referring to a combination of polyester and silk. It is soft and exquisitely comfortable!

Sari fabric also may have what others would call "imperfections". Tiny white spots where the ink missed, miniscule snags in this delicate material, chalk marks from the manufacturer, etc. These are not blemishes, but an inherent part of this original, ethnic material. I try to note "marks" when noticeable, and do not sell any significantly damaged items.

Please keep in mind that sari material is delicate and will snag easily. The women of India make it look easy...carrying buckets on their heads, children on their hips...but regardless, care should be taken with this handmade garment.

Care instructions: Machine wash gentle, or preferably hand wash. Hang dry, or tumble low heat.
