V Neck or Button Down Men's Handmade Sari Silk Short Sleeve Fancy Dress Shirt - Rust Teal Grass on Ivory - Dimitri G769
Introducing our new styles of Mumtaz sari silk shirts! Your choice of pocketless round collar button down kurta style or the casual no button V neck.
The Dimitri shirts are made from sari silk which was fair trade purchased during our time living in India. This material is a silk/polyester blend that's exquisitely soft, quick drying, and doesn't need ironing. This makes for an ideal shirt which is compact, stylish, and comfortable in hot weather.
This stunning pattern of rust and slate grasses on ivory is very artistic and unique. While this material would've traditionally been wrapped into a sari, I've made it into some one-of-a-kind men's shirts. As is somewhat common with Indian materials, there are some ink "splashes" that occurred during the fabric printing process, and wouldn't normally be noticed in a multi-layered garment such as a sari.
The size Large V-neck shirt pattern is slightly different, as seen in the last photo. Our V-neck shirts are designed to fit loosely with more room in the chest and shorter in length. The neckline is reinforced to give some shape to these shirts.

A note about Sari Material - all my material is/was bought in India where we lived for two years. Although it is often termed "silk", this is more of a colloquial expression, referring to a combination of polyester and silk. It is soft and exquisitely comfortable!
Sari fabric also may have what others would call "imperfections". Tiny white spots where the ink missed, miniscule snags in this delicate material, chalk marks from the manufacturer, etc. These are not blemishes, but an inherent part of this original, ethnic material. I try to note "marks" when noticeable, and do not sell any significantly damaged items.
Please keep in mind that sari material is delicate and will snag easily. The women of India make it look easy...carrying buckets on their heads, children on their hips...but regardless, care should be taken with this handmade garment.
Care instructions: Machine wash gentle, or preferably hand wash. Hang dry, or tumble low heat.
Custom orders welcomed, as I have plenty of extra sari material. However, I usually can not duplicate the same color/print since sari material is not sold in multiples.
Thanks for looking and appreciating my Indian inspired men's shirts!!
